World’s first hotel to open in Gulf shores, with a theme park inside

WASHINGTON — Legoland’s theme park is opening in the Gulf shore hotel that’s been a fixture in the resort’s long history.

The park, which opens Friday, will feature rides, rideshows and attractions that can be accessed by guests.

It’s set to be the largest indoor theme park in the world.

The first Legoland Resort opened in New Orleans in 1932, and opened a second location in Miami in 1959.

It has since moved to several different locations around the country, including Miami Beach.

Legoland has more than 20 theme parks around the world, including one in Florida.
